Existence of Stein Kernels under a Spectral Gap, and Discrepancy Bound

چکیده
We establish existence of Stein kernels for probability measures on R satisfying a Poincaré inequality, and obtain bounds on the Stein discrepancy of such measures. Applications to quantitative central limit theorems are discussed, including a new CLT in Wasserstein distance W2 with optimal rate and dependence on the dimension. As a byproduct, we obtain a stable version of an estimate of the Poincaré constant of probability measures under a second moment constraint. The results extend more generally to the setting of converse weighted Poincaré inequalities. The proof is based on simple arguments of calculus of variations. Further, we establish two general properties enjoyed by the Stein discrepancy, holding whenever a Stein kernel exists: Stein discrepancy is strictly decreasing along the CLT, and it controls the skewness of a random vector.

Analysis of convergence of solution of general fuzzy integral equation with nonlinear fuzzy kernels
Fuzzy integral equations have a major role in the mathematics and applications. In this paper, general fuzzy integral equations with nonlinear fuzzykernels are introduced. The existence and uniqueness of their solutions areapproved and an upper bound for them are determined. Finally an algorithmis drawn to show theorems better.

Approximate Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) offers the promise of more rapid sampling at the cost of more biased inference. Since standard MCMC diagnostics fail to detect these biases, researchers have developed computable Stein discrepancy measures that provably determine the convergence of a sample to its target distribution. This approach was recently combined with the theory of reproducing ...

Gravitational waves are considered in thermal vacuum state. The amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves are found enhanced in thermal vacuum state compared to its zero temperature counterpart. Therefore, the allowed amount of enhancement depends on the upper bound of WMAP-5 and WMAP-7 for the amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves. The enhancement of ...
متن کاملInvestigating Factors Affecting the Gap of Nursing Education and Practice from students and instructors’ viewpoints
Background: The existence of a gap between theory and practice in nursing is a problem that is rooted in the history of nursing education, which means that there is a difference between what the student at the college and the behavior that appears in the clinic, and this discrepancy is of concern to community health educators. A coherent understanding of the learning and practice gap is a cruci...
